Great Egyptian dancing!

In PE we have been focussing on dance. Team work and moving to the rhythm and beat of the music was a real challenge at the start of the term. Yesterday we moved on from Walk Like an Egyptian to a new piece of music with an Eyptian theme and the results were amazing! Well done Oak class a great attitude to your learning.

What angle?

Hunting around the classroom for right angles and showing obtuse and acute angles. Share with someone in your family about how you remember the names of different angles.

Karate Maths

Another great lesson..... All I'm going to say is ask your children...!

Not so clear instructions...

To get the children to fully understand the importance of clear instructions I got them to give me the instructions to make a jam sandwich... I took them fully at their word so had butter and jam everywhere... "Put some butter on," so I did...a whole handful! It really got across the importance of clear instructions.

What makes sounds louder?

The children did some great learning today to find out what changes the loudness of a sound. One of the experiments involved blowing across a bottle - I promise there was no Estrella in them but glass bottles make a much better sound!

Word Wizards

Today in Word Wizards, we discussed some of our favourite memories including happy times, times which made us laugh and times when we have been courageous. Think about a memory which makes you feel proud and share it with someone at home or school.

Egyptian Bake Off and golden time fun!

Golden time in Oak class led to some imaginative dressing up, great pyramid building with different construction kits and even Egyptian Bake Off! Mrs Peterson and Mrs Peterson judged that, in a tightly run contest, the scarab beetle cookies were the winners.

The 10commandments

We had fun playing in teams trying to remember each of the 10 Commandments as part of our RE lesson. Can you try to tell someone in your family what they are?

Multiplication games

We have begun to review our times tables ready to go on to learning more of them. Our target is to learn all the tables up to 12x table by the end of Year 4. Our times tables books are already being used and we enjoyed playing board games to refresh our memories after the holidays!
