Shaduf making - History/DT

In Year 4, we made shadufs. they had a set of material and had to make the shaduf in their groups.

They all worked so hard and had a lot of fun

Dear Parents,
We are finally up and running as a current Year 4 blog again.
So, I wanted to use this first post as a prompt for tomorrow's BIG VISIT to LONDON :)
Please make sure your child is at school between 7:50 and 8am tomorrow, as we shall be registering in the Hall at eight o'clock, prior to getting on the bus.
School jumpers / cardigans along with their coat and lunch (unless a school packed lunch has already been ordered) are essential; as is any travel medication.
We know they will be excited about the day, possibly a little nervous too (if they are not used to long journeys) however, we have a long day ahead of us so if you can encourage a decent amount of sleep tonight - we will be must grateful :)
See you all tomorrow

Music

An amazing brass concert by Oak and Willow classes this morning!
Well played by all ... and great support from parents too - thank you!
 I have some video clips and photos which I will try to upload, otherwise please come and see me for classroom screening :)

Monday, 10 June 2019

Dear Parents,
We must first thank all of you for the support and generosity you showed during our Enterprise Day on Friday - hot, stuffy classrooms full of excited children, who in turn persuaded you to part with the contents of your purse / wallet!
Just so you know, the children prepared the range of snacks and Jungle Juice in the morning - resisting temptation to eat any, so that there would be more for you to buy :)

This was all for a great cause ... and we have been extremely successful!
We have raised enough money, between the two classes to adopt FIVE endangered animals at Marwell Zoo!!
Thanks again and hopefully some of you will be able to return to the zoo for a family visit ... to say hello to these beautiful creatures.

Reminder for Marwell Zoo visit - Trips

Dear all,
Just in case the weather reports prove correct (and we have a rather soggy day ahead of us), please can you ensure that your child has:

- sensible, waterproof shoes or boots;
- a waterproof coat with a hood (or additional hat, if no hood);
- their lunch and water bottle, in a named plastic bag;
- no money in their bag (as we will not be spending in the gift shop);
- taken any travel sickness medication prior to the trip.

Whatever the weather, we are really looking forward to our rainforest exploration ... and hope you hear all about it on our return to school!
We shall make sure the children get off the coach and into school before releasing them back to you - at 5pm (travel dependent).
See you all tomorrow :)
