A neighbourhood walk looking at land use

Luckily our rainy walk brightened up with a rainbow . . .  Fortunately  no goblins appeared! We saw factories, businesses, shops, houses and  fast food outlets like KFC. It was amazing for us to realise how many different ways there are to use the land around us. All of these uses build up to create our town of Shaftesbury which started as a small settlement 1100 years ago.

Rainbow Goblins inspired art

We used shaving foam to create the marbling effect of the art work in Rainbow Goblins and then chose a scene to paint from the book. The bright colours and details of the beautiful illustrations have inspired some amazing art. 

Rainbow Goblins world book day

We had a day full of activities based on the book Rainbow Goblins. We completed a vocabulary challenge using our dictionaries to find the meanings of words like treachery and ensnared! We then thought about shades of meaning for different words like hot and hungry. See if you can use these at home with your family. We alsoused our imaginations thinking of a new ending for The Rainbow Goblins. We began the day with our fourth book special delivery of the week!
