Orienteering against the clock

The children did brilliantly today trying to identify 12 locations in under 20 minutes! The top team managed all twelve in just under 14 minutes which was brilliant. The task next week is to beat their times or to locate more points!

'Team Teach' in Willow

The children discuss as a group about the words they are given and then rank them from the hardest to the easiest word, justifying their choices. They then test each other on the tricky words!

A neighbourhood walk looking at land use

Luckily our rainy walk brightened up with a rainbow . . .  Fortunately  no goblins appeared! We saw factories, businesses, shops, houses and  fast food outlets like KFC. It was amazing for us to realise how many different ways there are to use the land around us. All of these uses build up to create our town of Shaftesbury which started as a small settlement 1100 years ago.

Rainbow Goblins inspired art

We used shaving foam to create the marbling effect of the art work in Rainbow Goblins and then chose a scene to paint from the book. The bright colours and details of the beautiful illustrations have inspired some amazing art.
